About Us

About usespMail has over a decade's experience in mail filtering solutions.  We began by offering a service to users of Lotus cc:Mail.  It allowed them to send and receive Internet mail without the need for a leased line, SMTP gateway, etc.

In October 1998 we added a service based around Floosietek's FTGate mail server and Microsoft Outlook.

In November 1999, we began offering a solution for users of Microsoft Exchange Server.

In those early days, email viruses were the rage.  These tended to consist of executable attachments to mail messages.  The anti-virus vendors fought back and Microsoft made changes to the security settings in applications like Word and Outlook.  Now such attachments are rarely seen.

As the web has become ubiquitous, "phishing" attacks are common place.  Fraud is now big business and, rather than trash your computer, the criminals use email to get their hands on your cash or by misdirecting you to fraudulent web sites.

While malicious email has become more subtle, the volume of spam has gown exponentially.

Throughout the last decade, our service continued to evolve in order to filter out new threats before they reached the end user's mailbox.  During this time we began offering web mail, web space and domain names.

Over the last couple of years, "cloud" based applications like Google Apps for Business have begun to make real inroads into the traditional email server based model. In 2010, we decided that this was where the future lay and, once we had tested the technology, we began to resell the Google Apps for Business service in 2011.
